Flash Fiction Archive
Short story fiction written starting in 2023. Inspired by random prompts found in the NYC Midnight forums like Come Home (horror / candle / trunk). Competitions can be anywhere from micro fiction (100 words) to short stories thousands of words long. Entries marked (u) or with a placement were submitted to a competition, received judges’ comments, and may have been fixed / expanded. Here’s a fun fact: the last of the prompts must be included in a submission exactly as is to avoid disqualification. However, this means the word “night” could appear as “nights”, “nightly”, “knight”, or “fortnight”, giving contestants a range of creative options.
